BRICS Law Journal

In 2016 in the framework of the Russian Academic Excellence Project the University of Tyumen launched its new research project – BRICS Law Journal. The Journal is registered and has been published in the Russian Federation since 2014 in English. It comes out four times per year in print and on-line. Еру The journal was created on the initiative of the academic community in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

The BRICS Law Journal is a platform for relevant comparative research and legal development not only in and between the BRICS countries themselves but also between those countries and others. The journal is an open forum for legal scholars and practitioners to reflect on issues that are relevant to the BRICS and internationally significant.

The mission and development objectives of the Journal are:

- To raise interest in BRICS-relevant legal concepts, ideas and legal research in the international community

- To promote and exchange legal ideas at the international level

- To suggest effective, efficient and adequate tools for BRICS countries to respond to global challenges

- To develop deeper understanding and better communication not only across BRICS countries, but also around the global community

Elena Gladun: “Now the Journal is on the verge of a new development stage. There will be new objectives, new people and new challenges. Guided by its commitment to serve the BRICS community, the Journal will undertake the following initiatives in coming years. We will be renewing Editorial Board and Editorial Council involving more prominent academics who, together with the returning members, will contribute to the further success of the Journal. The BRICS Law Journal will be expanding its scope calling for interdisciplinary papers and research from areas intersecting with law – political studies, history, anthropology, sociology, economic. The Journal is aiming at participating in more international and national events and sponsoring conferences, research forums and events of our new partners”.
